Update May 2020
From ASpekt 2020 to ASpekt 2021
We all know the dramatic situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Europe and the world. We must minimize social contacts in order to reduce the spread of the virus. A sufficient relaxation of government measures cannot be expected in the next few weeks to allow our meeting to be conducted in a meaningful way.
The organizing committee has therefore decided to cancel this year’s spectroscopy conference ASpekt 20 accordingly.
The hotel rooms booked via the homepage including possible extension days / family rooms etc. have been cancelled by us at the Motel-One. For those who have paid for the hotel: All payments received by us will be completely refunded. In the course of your registration you have received an email with the subject „ASpect 2020 – registration“. Please forward this email together with your bank account details (Name / IBAN / BIC) for the return transfer to m.kremin(at)sternwarte-luebeck.de . We ask for your understanding that we do not carry out PayPal transfers to avoid further transaction costs.
We all like to meet and discuss intensively about astronomical and spectroscopic topics. This is currently not possible. Let’s hope that the pandemic will be over soon.
We therefore invite you today to ASpekt 21 in Lübeck from April 30 to May 2, 2021.
The venue will again be the Johanneum zu Lübeck. The aspect registration form below is updated accordingly.
Unlike this year 2020, we would like to ask you to book your overnight stay at the Motel-One or another hotel of your choice directly via one of the booking platforms. This has the great advantage that the rooms can usually be cancelled until immediately before your arrival. Further details will follow.
Many greetings and stay healthy
Malin Moll, Thomas Hunger, Rainer Borchmann, Ulrich Waldschlaeger, Knud Henke
Congress ASpekt 21
When: Friday, April 30th until Sunday, May 2nd 2021
Where: Johanneum zu Lübeck, Bei St. Johannis 1-3, 23552 Lübeck
The annual conference of the VdS-spectroscopy group ASpekt 2021., will take place place at the Johanneum in the centre of Lübeck.
We invite all spectroscopically interested astronomers to this conference, especially beginners and young colleagues. A VdS membership is not necessary. With lectures and a poster and equipment session from the participants we exchange ideas and discuss open questions on spectroscopy.
A permanent exchange for preparation and further activities can be found in the group’s forum.
Collegial discussions between all participants are important and very stimulating for your own work. Therefore we attach great importance to the personal exchange, so that the journey is worthwhile for beginners or advanced. We exchange information about self-made devices and the problems they cause, but also about stellar physics and observations. Always communicated in such a way that as many people as possible take a profit with them. We put together several presentations from the participants and also offer a poster and equipment session in the form of a „market of possibilities“. This gives you ample opportunity for a personal discussion. The evenings together also increase the fun and offer ample opportunity to make new contacts. Please refer to the VdS conference homepage for further information.
Lübeck is a beautiful city and has a lot to offer. Therefore we are working on a social programme in which you are welcome to participate. There may be a small contribution to the costs of the social programme, food and drinks are at your own expense.
On Friday evening we are planning a visit to the non-public areas of the city library in its historical rooms and will take a look at some scientific works of the Middle Ages. Afterwards we will have dinner together.
On Saturday evening we are planning a guided tour of the city and will have dinner together again afterwards.
The conference itself is free of charge. Interested young people, especially pupils, can apply for a financial travel and accommodation grant.
Please register until April 1st 2021 using the contact form below.
